I'm pretty sure I'm not going to finish this post anytime soon (currently 12:45pm) and am going to have to take a game break for the needs of the household, but shiiet, just remembered, got me a new DVR. Record that shit. Anyway, here are some comments about the NFL season thus far. I'm going to be typing it to you as hard as nature allows me.
- Back in September I remember reading a Bill Simmons article about a possible sub .500 NFC West winner, and Bill's proposed restructuring of the divisions. I always find Bill's article interesting, but it's typical that I intrinsically disagree with 90% or more of his ideas. This is that article. I actually agreed with Bill's restructuring idea. Almost all of it in fact. And now, going into Week 13, the co-leaders of the NFC West at 5-6. One of the odd men out (projected at this point) will be the Giants (7-4), Packers (7-4) or Saints (8-3). We'll see how it plays out, and I think Bill's new conferences give preference to his NFC Central and AFC East. I think it's a good idea to have 4 total conferences, but they don't necessarily have to be geographically based, because, shit, they're not geographically rationalized now...
- See my Mid-Week 4 comments, and check out the Giants dissertation I wrote at the bottom. For the most part the Giants have won the games they were supposed to win, and won a few they were supposed to lose. We'll see what happens in these final few games, but they going to need to beat the 'Skins today to remain in playoff talks
- Biggest games today are Baltimore vs Pittsburgh, New York vs New England. Smart money is on New England and Pittsburgh probably. I'd like to see Baltimore and New York win.
- Tampa Bay vs Atlanta - Not a fan of Atlanta. I think I'm just a hater. I also think Tampa has a legitimate chance to win the game.
- Indianapolis vs Dallas - on the CBS pre-game show Boomer said, "It's Peyton Manning versus Jon Kitna..." Then again, I haven't seen the Colts running game this exposed in years. They're injury plagued and their linemen are getting older. Still think Indy does it.
Peace out.
