Sad for Chad

It appears as though Chad Pennington is done for the season. This is the 3rd time he's experienced a potential career threatening injury, and I highly doubt he has 9 lives on that shoulder. I just want to say that I'm really upset about this.

Although I'm a huge Giants fan, I'm also a fan of the NY Jets, and after Chad Pennington came back from his first "career ending" injury, he soon became my favorite quarterback. The guy just had guts. A number of times this guy had people telling him he couldn't do something, and he'd try his best to do it. It killed me to see him with the Captain's "C" on his chest, watching from the sidelines. The truth is that Chad was never going to be the best on the field, his abilities were limited.

Chad was like the little engine that could, or a little runt puppy that you always root for. You aren't surprised when they struggle or fail, but you're rooting for them the entire way.

After being unceremoniously tossed out of the Jets organization, he found a home in Miami. It seemed as though he had a new lease on his football life. I don't know the full extents of the injury, but I just want to put it out there that I'm really bummed for the guy. If he's done for the season and Other Chad (Chad Henne) gets any sort of groove going with the team, even if Pennington comes back from this injury, he's likely done with the Dolphins. Chad Pennington was the man, and it sucks he has another career ending injury that he might or might not come back from.
