Fantasy Football Dissection: QB

I was considering working on a very long post, but knowing that no one will read the whole thing, and also that I don't have the patience to break down each position, I want decided to start a little mini-series of the lessons learned from the 2009 football season for future fantasy draft picks.

First up - the Quarterback postion.

In one of my leagues (that I am currently in first place by two games, and headed towards another win and  a week high in points for my league) I decided to go into the draft and not draft a quarterback in the high rounds.  I wanted to wait until the 5th or 6th round for Aaron Rodgers, or wait until the 7th or 8th for someone else.  I didn't get Rodgers, but dammit, that would have made me look like a fucking genius.  I ended up with Matt Ryan and Carson Palmer as my two quarterbacks in a 10 team league.  My belief was that the difference between the No.1 quarterback and the No.10 or even No.15 quarterback wouldn't be worth the draft pick.  Let's break down the current fantasy points earned, and I will follow up following Week 16.

Thought/knew I'd make it a good one right?  Wrong.

If Ya Smell What The Scott Is Cookin'!

I doubt it's just me, because it just can't be only me that sees this, but ESPN's Stuart Scott looks as though he is perpetually Smelling What the Rock is Cooking.  Let's compare and contrast shall we?

REVIEW: Assassin's Creed II (Xbox 360)

Ubisoft Montreal is back with their second installment of the video game that created some buzz back in 2007.  Assassin's Creed II hit stores last week, and the fact that I'm reviewing it so soon will either tell you it royally sucked, or royally kicked some assassin ass.

Care to take a guess?

Seriously.  Take a guess.

I'm not telling you until you guess.

These Little Piggies - Part 1 of ??

This is my first crack at a comic strip for the BuDa-BLoG, and I'm currently at a computer that doesn't allow me much graphical flexibility.  Please leave some comments about the pigs and let me know if you'd like more of them.  If you do, they'll look a LITTLE different.

Unfortunate Formatting Incidents

I don't know why, but the default options have altered past post options.  Just so you know, I hate it.  I prefer sans serif fonts such as Arial, and I prefer a font size around 10 point.  I apologize for this inconvenience while I figure this out.

Lions Not At Full Strength For Turkey Day?!

Don't over-gasp yourself, the hapless Detroit Lions may not have a completely healthy squad going into the Thanksgiving Day game against the Green Bay Packers.

There is the age old argument that the Lions shouldn't play on Turkey Day because the NFL should put forth their best for the holiday.  Should they remove the Lions as a default team to host the Turkey Bowls?

REVIEW: Jersey Boys

It's been a while my friends.  My bad.  Let me hit you with this review, check it.

Jersey Boys is labeled as being "The Story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons".  There are a few things you KNOW going into this thing.

  1. Everybody says you will love it
  2. The music will be very good
Those are givens, but those don't necessarily mean that the musical will be good.  So was it?

23-to-Shut the Fuck Up

Check this shit out.

First of all, unnecessary.  Simply unnecessary.  Second, if Michael Jorden was grateful for anything then maybe I would agree with this.  Who does LeBron think he is?!  Honestly, where does he get off?

My suggestion is to have every good player in the NBA make an attempt to switch to the Number 23.  No, not like the movie that James Carrey is in (spoiler alert, 2 divided by 3 equals .666, and it's in everything...), but it would also be hilarious if really shitty people wore the number.

BuDaChick suggested that it would also be appropriate if Michael Jordan were dead.  I agree.  He's not.  Dead or grateful.  He's neither.  LeBron, he can go fuck himself (Jordan), you keep that number of yours...

What are the chances that this is so he can sell more jerseys?  Probably pretty good.

Really? That's it?!

EXTRA EXTRA - NEW JIHAD CODE

Eh, I guess something is better than nothing.

Stumbled on this Little Gem...

Apparently All Day Adrian Peterson has himself a webpage, nay, a MySpace page.

Look how he's adorned it.

Just gorgeous.

In case you were wondering, you can find this page at the following location:

http://www.myspace.com/too_fast_too_fine

That's right, MySpace plus the custom domain of "Too Fast Too Fine".  I guess I shouldn't have expected anything less from this guy.

With such fame early in his career I wouldn't be surprised to see a Michael Jackson-esque transformation in ADP similar to the recent one of ex-roider and alleged Baseball player Sammy Sosa.

Boeheim Edges A Nail Biter Versus Albany

That's right.  He did it.  He won his 800th career win.  I'm surprised they were able to make the signs quickly enough, as this was a win no one expected Syracuse to emerge with.

Although heavily favored, the University of Albany Great Danes fell to The [Always PC] Orange in "The Dome".  "The 'Cuse" took an early lead, but then, with 14:08 remaining the first half it looked as though the Great Danes had the Orange cooked - the score was 7 to 9 in favor of the Orange.  The positive mojo was short lived unfortunately for the Great Danes (and unluckily) it never stayed that close.

Unbelievably the Orange almost surrendered a 33 point lead (not really), but ended up holding out to win by that amount anyway.  Close game.  Whew!  Just when you thought he wouldn't get his 800th, he did.  Great.  Just great.  Hey, I think I know that cheerleader (on the left, with the "S", the one on the right I'm sure I trained my brain to forget...) from Chuck's, HoLLa.

Dropping a Work-Day Deuce

By far and away the favorite part of my day is going to that bathroom, entering that stall, unbuckling my belt, and stealing a few relaxing moments at the office.

No one bothers you for the 2... 3... 20 minutes you might be spending in there.

Don't waste your time stressing to get back to work.  This is a place of relaxation.

Never was a fan of the term BATHROOM, and now I definitely know why someone came up with the term RESTROOM.

I Just Don't Get It

I don't.

Affordable health care for everyone - that something I want to buy into.  Or take advantage of.  Either-or.

Not all Democrats are for this health care bill, and not all Republicans are against it.  This is getting confusing.  How am I supposed to know which pole to gravitate towards if the politcal bodies are not aligned with themselves.

I'm not so sure I'm a fan of this "bi-partisan-ship-ness govermenting" that I'm hearing is all the rave...
