Well everybody, it's over.  It's finally over.  October 09, 2009 at Giants Stadium, Bruce rocked the house (and built a house...of love, and faith, and music, and Jersey Soul, and noise...), and now all we have to look forward to is their hiatus.

Well, let me break down the set list for you, and provided you with some comments from my evening.  The moral of this story?  "Old people suck, and just aren't fun."  I'm not talking about Bruce, but I am talking about certain people - you know who you are.  Here's the set list (and as always, the handwritten list to the right.

Jersey Girl

Here's my issue - I'm not a fan of Jersey Girl, and I think it's a lame song to end on.  If you love it, great, it's not a bad song, I just think it's lame to end on.  You can see that the handwritten list has it ending with Thunder Road.  Personally, if he went Jersey Girl, to Thunder Road, then to Rosalita and ended it I would have been so happy.  I just felt he ended two songs too early.  He started at about 8:30, and ended about 11:45pm, so he played for 3 hours and 15 minutes.  On a scale of Bruce concerts, this ranked about an 8 out of 10.  Compare this with any other band out there, it's an 11, but maybe I've just seen too much Bruce in the past week.  Best night was Sept. 30th.  I got everything.  Atlantic City, Growin' Up, AND everything else I expected to hear.  Sept. 30th was the shit.

Now - why do old people suck?  Well first of all, we know that it's true.  I don't really need to tell the story - you can believe me without any convincing, but I will tell the story nonetheless.  BuDaChick and myself had seats in section 127, row 41, seats 24 & 25.  Row 41 is the last row.  You are on the lowest level, are under the most cover, and have the worst acoustics in the whole stadium.  You have CMU walls right behind you, and can see the bathrooms over the top of them if you are standing.  As soon as we hit our seats we began looking for a spot to filter to.

Found it.  Two or three sections over, there are 3 or 4 rows completely clear, and beyond that there are another 4 or 5 rows that only have about 3 or 4 people in each one!  Siick.  Make the move.  We go down to row 8 in section 124.  Up comes 12 year old "Stadium Usher", or whatever the fuck they are, telling us we can't sit there.  Seriously, this dude looks like he's twelve.  It's highly probably that his left nut hadn't dropped yet.  He tells us the seats are reserved for ticket conflicts.  "I have a conflict, I paid a shit load for these tickets and I have fluorescent ambient light surrounding my seats and shitting acoustics.  There are 4 rows open for people like me, wanna fight about it?"  He didn't, but we shimmied down the row (ir)regardless.  Then, his cohort on the other side flags us down, asks to see our tickets.  Same conversation, same result, we shimmy the other way and manage to stick in the area.  I figure, what the hell, I might as well get good seats for as long as possible, and if I get booted by REAL security, then I have my crappy seats adjacent to the toilets near Gate C to head back to.

Throughout the rest of the concert, this whole area remained relatively empty.  People kept filing down and being forced to file out.  We were surrounded by a bunch of drunk dudes probably in their late 20's, some were being belligerent, but hey, that's all in the concert experience.  They were having fun.  In comes this tall and fat dude and his ugly ass wife that sit in the row directly in front of me (next to some of the drunken dudes).  Their tickets get the third degree, but pre-pubescent 12 year old nods at the tickets and hands them back.  Apparently these moron's had a conflict elsewhere.  These were the only two people in the entire section, that I noticed, who were actually supposed to be there.

Old fat fuck and his ugly ass wife stood for, let me think, ZERO SONGS.  Fucking lame.  At some point in the evening, the drunken dudes must have set this guy off.  Honestly, I saw nothing.  Absolutely nothing should have set this guy off.  This guy, who was wearing an NYPD hat, walrus's his way across these two guys in his way, heads down to 12 year old wanna-be douche, and whispers something into his ear.  He turns to go back up to his seat, immediately followed by little Mr. 12 y/o.  I couldn't hear the exact words, because I was in the process of getting rocked out, but 12 y/o obviously asks to see their tickets.  So obvious what had just happened, and it made me furious.  The great thing is, that the drunken dudes don't leave, the one closest to the aisle moves to the aisle and heads down from the 7th row to the 3rd row (12 y/o did nothing lol) and the other guy turned around, grilled old man fat river.  Eventually, enough words were said that old man fat river stands up and gets in this kids face - old man NYPD idiot is about 8 inches taller than him, and about 40 inches wider than him, it wouldn't have been pretty.  I still couldn't hear a word, but was trying to find out EXACTLY what was going on.

Drunken dude gets escorted out, and a few minutes later old fat dude and his ugly wife with her terrible hair left as well.  Who knows where they went - but they did not look like they were having fun.  Do me a favor old fucks, go be lame elsewhere!  Your presence isn't desired if you aren't going to enjoy yourself, especially if you are going to be a Deborah downer for the rest of us.

The younger Bruce fans are much cooler than the older ones.  I think there should be a mandatory age limit on attending concerts, because these old people prove to be so worthless.  All they're good for is voting and collecting free money.  Talking about their pensions.  What's a pension?!  That's right, us young-bucks are going to have to work or steal for the cash we get, because got knows the 401(k) program won't support us!
