NFL Week 6 BuDa Pick'Em!

Straight up, usually my bread and butter, was not getting my schwerve on last week. Let's see how we did.

8-6; 6-8

As always, BOLD teams are home teams, straight up picks are gut calls.

1:00PM/ET

Texans (+4.5) OVER Bengals; Texans (+0) OVER Bengals
Andre Johnson is dirty, and Matt Schaub is playing out of yours and his mind. The Bengals look good, don't get me wrong, I just think that this Texans team needs to get rolling sooner rather than later. If not now, then when?

Detroit (+13.5) OVER Packers; Packers (+0) OVER Detroit
The Steelers couldn't beat the Lions by more than 8, and the injury to Calvin Johnson doesn't scare me that much. Kevin Smith is legit. Bum shoulder, and against the Steel Curtain, dude puts up 90+ yards. I COULD see the Lions making an outright upset, but it's highly unlikely.

Vikings (-3) OVER Ravens; Vikings (+0) OVER Ravens
Vikings at home, and they've proven they're legitimate. All Day Peterson, with the Williams brothers on the other side of the ball, I just don't think the Ravens can stop the Vikings. The question is: When do they lose? Could be this week, but I just can't go against them.

Steelers (-14) OVER Browns; Steelers (+0) OVER Browns
I'll touch upon the Jamal Lewis in the DONE column a bit more in DOING WORK | DONE WORKING, but yeah, he put up over 100 yards. I think he'll break a knee this week. The Browns are just terrible. DA (Derek Anderson) completed something like 2 passes all game. Bills-Browns last week there was 9 points scored total, and there wasn't a shut out, glad I didn't have to WATCH that game...

Buccaneers (+3.5) OVER Panthers; Buccaneers (+0) OVER Panthers
Jim Johnson is just getting a little mojo going with the offense, and I think Carolina is one of the worst teams out there. Just turrible.

Chiefs (+6.5) OVER Redskins; Chiefs (+0) OVER Redskins
I can't believe the Chiefs lost to the Cowboys. I love how bad the Cowboys are. The Chiefs aren't bad. The Chiefs are unfortunate. Larry Johnson is bad (will he make my DONE column?!), Dwayne Bowe is a beast, Matt Cassel - I don't see any knee problems. Count it.

Rams (+10) OVER Jaguars; Jaguars (+0) OVER Rams
I think both of these teams are varying degrees of terrible - I just think you expect the Rams to be terrible, and the Jags you expect to be half good. So at least the Rams have that going for them...

Giants (+3) OVER Saints; Giants (+0) OVER Saints
This is the first test for the GMeN. The Saints have a potent offense, so do the Giants, but I see flaws in the Giants offense, and as of yet, the Saints have proven they can win (even against a good defense) even when Drew Brees has an off game. I'll take the Giants defense over the Saints defense any day of the week. I honestly think the Giants can go undefeated this year - they won't - but this will be their first test. Do it up BLUE!

4:00PM/ET

Seattle (-2.5) OVER Cardinals; Seattle (+0) OVER Cardinals
Seattle's defense is looking like it was SUPPOSED to look last year, and their offense seems to have their weapons working together. At Qwest Field, I have to take Seattle.

Eagles (-14) OVER Raiders; Eagles (+0) OVER Raiders
What did I learn last week? Never underestimate how bad the Raiders are. JaMarcus Russell isn't as bad as advertised, he's worse. Take the over against the every single chance you get. Interestingly enough, this is one of TWO games this week where the Away team is favored to win - the other is Carolina by 3 1/2 points at Tampa.

Titans (+9.5) OVER Patriots; Titans (+0) OVER Patriots
I don't know, are these Titans (now 0-5) that different from last years team (then 13-3)?! They can't run the table, but they have to win sometime. This is against a good Patriots team and on their turf, but I'm just going with the gut - shouldn't have eaten that Taco Bell...

Jets (-10) OVER Bills; Jets (+0) OVER Bills
Maybe I'm a slow learner, but I just don't think this Jets team is as bad as they've shown the past two weeks. I can't call them the best defense in the league after posting a negative one for me (you sons of a bitches), but the Bills couldn't score more than 3 points against the Browns...

8:20PM/ET

Falcons (-3) OVER Bears; Falcons (+0) OVER Bears
The Falcons looked freaky good this past week. Turner was on, Roddy White was on, Matt Ryan was as on as you can be, and Tony Gonzalez only put up 50+ receiving yards. Against the Bears they'll activate Tony G a little bit more and win by more than 6.

Broncos (+4) OVER Chargers; Broncos (+0) OVER Chargers
An undefeated team is an underdog to a .500 team? Really? I hate Phillip Rivers. He throws like a girl, or like the football equivalent of Johnny Damon. LDT is DONE, he just wasn't in last weeks column. Broncos go 6-0.

Well that's it for this week fellas - I was trying to breakdown each matchup a little quicker, so hopefully it was working for you. Also, I plan to release my picks a little earlier in the week - so read my shit first before you read the so called "experts". See you in a few for the DOING WORK | DONE WORKING periodical.
